Erg... I still feel quite ill today. Have a headache, an ear ache and just generally unwell... moan, moan, gripe, gripe...
Anyway, hubby has been offered another job at one of our mines as an assistants mechanic. Apparently the money is really good, but the work is harder than he does now.
Not really sure I'm keen on the idea, as I know the job he is in now is pretty secure. But if he takes this other job, he will never be anything but an assistant mechanic. There is no room for job improvement or advancement.
I don't think in the long run he will be happy doing a no brainer of a job; the same thing, day in day out, for years. And with the mine the only thing he can eventually look forward to is injury, being killed or being retrenched; without qualifications for anything else. Any jobs taken on the mines here, are are only 'lease qualifications' ie; Can't obtain the qualifications for 'off lease' employment.
